Kosovo is a devastated land, having survived the ethnic cleansing and brutal repression of Serbia. The traditional heartland of the Orthodox Christian Serbs, the area is now mainly populated by Muslim Albanians. Religious-based wars have been fought in this region for centuries.Dianna Ullrich, a native of the Antelope Valley, is serving in Kosovo as a missionary with CAMA Services. (CAMA Services conducts relief operations openly and in full cooperation with host countries around the world.) She is working with the village of Kacanik, ministering to the women there, most of whom are Muslims of Albanian descent. Many of the women have been widowed due to the war and Serbian ethnic cleansing. Dianna is in the process of establishing the AGAPE Women's Center where English will be taught. There she can use her occupational therapy skills to reach the hurting people of war-torn Kosova. This is also where the CAMA Crafts crochet project will be centered. Dianna Ullrich will be visiting Crossroads Bible Church during their missions conference on February 16-22, 2004. Pray for safe travel and good health while she is on tour. |
